Holding Perkebunan Nusantara Presents National Sugar Innovation through RPN Participation in Sugarex 2025

Surabaya – The Sugarex Indonesia 2025 international sugar exhibition will be held again at the Dyandra Convention Center Surabaya on 12–13 November 2025. This global event, attended by delegates from various countries, including India, Australia and Spain, is an important momentum for PT Research Perkebunan Nusantara (RPN), a subsidiary under Holding Perkebunan Nusantara, to showcase the latest breakthroughs in the sugar and plantation industry.

RPN’s participation through the Indonesian Sugar Plantation Research Center (P3GI) received wide attention from visitors, especially through strategic collaboration with PT Equiva Ligand Indonesia, the official distributor of Sucromat and Refractometer Indonesia. As the main partner, the largest laboratory equipment supplier in Indonesia for measuring devices for the food and beverage industry supports live demonstrations of modern analytical technology.

Visitors can watch a demonstration of the use of high-tech laboratory equipment belonging to PT Equiva Ligand Indonesia using analytical materials from P3GI. The positive response from visitors illustrates the high level of industry interest in analytical technology that is relevant and meets large-scale laboratory standards.

Apart from displaying analytical technology, P3GI strengthened the educational contribution of the sugar sector through the presence of the Head of P3GI Business, Risvan Kuswurjanto, as a speaker on the first day. He presented material entitled “The Role of Smart Agriculture in Accelerating Indonesia’s Sugar Self-Sufficiency Goals”. “We want to show that the right research can accelerate the step towards sugar self-sufficiency,” he said.

During the exhibition, P3GI introduced various superior products, ranging from planting materials such as sugar cane seeds, lonjoran, and budset, to non-planting material products such as clearpol, napol, Fondanseed, as well as training services, laboratory analysis, calibration, and educational tours. One of the main attractions is Segarcane, a natural sugar cane juice drink resulting from P3GI research, which is distributed free to visitors. “Through this exhibition, the public can experience firsthand the quality of sugarcane products resulting from our research,” said one P3GI representative.

P3GI’s participation in Sugarex Indonesia 2025 does not only focus on product and technology promotion, but is also a strategic step to strengthen collaboration with industry players, research institutions and international partners. This event is expected to open up opportunities for joint research, expand the application of modern sugar technology, and give birth to more competitive downstream innovations.
