Surabaya, January 2026 – PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) through the Jamrud Nilam Mirah (Janirah) Branch recorded an important milestone in early 2026 by successfully handling the first imported ship to berth and carry out loading and unloading activities at the terminal. The MV Jiashun was the first ship to carry imported steel slabs with a total of 40,695 metric tons, marking the start of handling large-scale imported cargo at the Janirah Branch.
Loading and unloading activities were carried out at Jamrud Utara pier, Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, and took place in the period 2 to 6 January 2026. The ship departed from Sohar Port, Oman, carrying steel commodities which are strategic raw materials for national industry.

The Jamrud Nilam Mirah Branch is an operational unit under the management of PT Pelindo Multi Terminal which serves bulk commodities and general cargo, including steel and its derivative products. The successful handling of this first import load shows the terminal’s readiness to support smooth logistics flows, especially for the East Java region and its surroundings.
Pelindo Multi Terminal Jamrud Nilam Mirah Branch Manager, Muh Junaedhy, emphasized that the successful loading and unloading of the initial imported cargo of around 40 thousand metric tons was proof of the overall readiness of the Janirah Branch SPMT, both in terms of facilities, equipment and human resources.

“Handling this first imported cargo with a volume of around 40 thousand metric tons shows that the Janirah Branch is ready to serve large-scale loading and unloading of commodities. The entire process runs smoothly according to operational standards and ship service plans,” stressed Muh Junaedhy.
During the loading and unloading activity period, the average loading and unloading performance at the Janirah Branch reached around 10,000 tons per day, reflecting the terminal’s operational productivity in handling large-scale imported cargo efficiently.
He added that the successful handling of this first imported ship is expected to be a good start for Janirah Branch operations throughout 2026, as well as strengthening service users’ trust in SPMT services.
All data on ship arrivals and actual loading and unloading are recorded in the terminal operational system as part of integrated port service management. Jamrud Terminal also acts as one of the main distribution points for steel commodities entering by sea in the Tanjung Perak Port area.

Through this activity, SPMT Branch Janirah continues to carry out its role in supporting the smooth flow of industrial raw materials and strengthening the national logistics chain in early 2026.
