This phenomenon triggers an urgent need for a new protective figure in the household who acts as a technology supervisor. This figure is tasked with monitoring online activity, updating the security system, and ensuring that there are no security gaps opened on every device used. Without structured monitoring, one infected device can easily spread the threat to the entire home network.
The Importance of the Role of a Family Digital Safety Manager
Survey data shows that as many as 53% of internet users in Indonesia have taken proactive initiatives to provide regular education to their family members. This figure should be appreciated because it has succeeded in exceeding the global average which is only around 47%. This active education is very valuable initial capital for building a foundation family digital security strong from an early age.
This education covers various basic aspects, from how to filter information to managing digital identities safely on public platforms. Around 65% of respondents in Indonesia also actively recommend using password management applications to prevent data leaks. Meanwhile, another 49% encouraged implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) as a preventative measure to protect social media and banking accounts.
However, this theoretical awareness has not been fully implemented in real technical action by the majority of society. Many families understand the risks of danger on the internet, but delay installing adequate protective software. As a result, the first defense gate on their hardware remains wide open to potential cyberattacks.
The Real Gap Between Education and Device Protection
This gap is clearly visible from data which shows that only 38% of users in Indonesia have installed protection solutions on all family devices. Today’s cybercriminals no longer choose targets and can attack any operating system.
Although the percentage of protection installed in Indonesia is still better than the global average of only 33%, experts cyber security still give a strong warning. Therefore, an integrated multi-device security approach is an absolute solution that cannot be negotiated anymore.
This comprehensive protection is very important because each family member has a different level of technological adaptation. Children who actively play online games often accidentally download dangerous files that contain viruses. On the other hand, parents who are less familiar with modern security features are vulnerable to becoming victims of money transfer fraud.
Protecting Vulnerable Generations from Cyber Threats
The Kaspersky study also highlights that the age group over 55 years tends to be less active in managing the system family digital security independently. They often find it difficult to keep up with technological developments that change so rapidly all the time. Therefore, the younger generation who are more digitally literate must take an active role in helping secure their parents’ devices.
Even though there are still several gaps, Indonesia has recorded quite encouraging achievements in terms of overall preventive awareness. There were only around 4% of respondents in the country who admitted to not taking any protective measures at all for their devices. This figure is much better compared to the global average which reaches 10%.
This positive step must continue to be maintained and improved towards more massive and structured protection measures. Relying on verbal understanding alone will not be enough to withstand increasingly sophisticated and aggressive malware attacks. A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
