KAI Daop 2 Bandung Records 111,685 Customers Ready to Travel by Train During Year-End Holidays

Bandung, West Java – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area 2 Bandung recorded high community mobility during the year-end holiday period. Based on data from Saturday, December 13 2025, sales of train departure tickets from Daop 2 Bandung area for the period 18 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, as many as 111,685 customers already had train travel tickets.

During this period, KAI Daop 2 Bandung provided a total of 287,316 seats, with an average of 15,962 seats per day. This capacity comes from commercial long-distance train services and PSO long-distance trains with regular train trips and additional trains operated to accommodate community needs during the year-end holiday period.

Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo said that providing seating capacity and organizing train operations is KAI’s commitment to providing safe, comfortable, timely and reliable transportation services for the public during the year-end holiday period.

“We urge all customers to plan their year-end holiday trips as well as possible, starting from determining the departure date, choosing a train according to their needs, to purchasing tickets in advance through the official KAI channel. With careful planning, customers can enjoy a more comfortable trip and avoid crowds on favorite dates,” said Kuswardojo.

Of the capacity provided, the overall passenger occupancy rate currently reaches 38.9 percent. Some trains are currently recorded as having high occupancy rates that exceed 100 percent, especially on long-distance PSO train services and the public’s favorite trains.

These include the Kahuripan train with an average occupancy of 147.0 percent, the Cikuray train with 100.7 percent, and the Kutojaya Selatan (PSO) train with 89.5 percent occupancy. Meanwhile, for commercial services, the Papandayan train recorded an occupancy of 97.7 percent, the Pangandaran train 63.4 percent, the Lodaya train 63.2 percent, and the Malabar train 53.9 percent.

To ensure smooth service, KAI Daop 2 Bandung also operates a number of additional trains, including the Additional Lodaya Train, the Additional South Kutojaya Train, and the Additional Train with the KAC–SGU connection. This additional train operation is carried out dynamically based on demand levels and daily occupancy evaluation.

KAI Daop 2 Bandung will continue to evaluate and adjust services according to customer needs, as well as inviting the public to use train transportation as an efficient and environmentally friendly travel solution during the year-end holidays.
