KAI Daop 4 Records 59 Thousands of Train Passengers at Pekalongan and Pemalang Stations During the Three Days of the 2025/2026 Christmas Transport Period

It was recorded that 59,731 passengers used train services at all stations in the Pekalongan and Pemalang areas during the period 18 to 20 December 2025.

Entering the third day of the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays, KAI Daop 4 Semarang noted the high mobility of people who use the train transportation mode. It was recorded that 59,731 passengers used train services at all stations in the Pekalongan and Pemalang areas during the period 18 to 20 December 2025.

Of this total, 28,070 passengers were recorded as departing from Pekalongan and Pemalang stations, while 31,661 other passengers were arriving passengers. This figure is still dynamic as ticket sales continue until the last train departure each day. Data was taken as of Saturday (20/12) at 10.00 WIB.

Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 4 Semarang, Luqman Arif, said that this surge in passenger volume reflects the increase in people’s travel activities, both for going home, on holiday and other trips, in line with the start of the school holidays which coincide with the momentum of Christmas and New Year.

“Trains are still the main choice for people coming and going in the Pekalongan and Pemalang areas because they are considered safe, comfortable and on time, especially for long and medium distance travel during long holiday periods,” he added.

Luqman explained that this figure shows the strategic role of Pekalongan and Pemalang Stations as the main rail transportation nodes that connect the region with various favorite destination cities such as Semarang, Jakarta and Surabaya.

The details of the number of passengers at Pekalongan and Pemalang stations from Thursday (18/12) to Saturday (20/12) are as follows:

1. Pekalongan Station served 18,814 departing passengers and 20,812 arriving passengers.

2. Pemalang Station serves the departure of 9,256 passengers and the arrival of 10,849 passengers.

Furthermore, Luqman also appealed to all customers to plan their trips well and comply with applicable regulations for smooth travel during the Christmas period.

“We urge customers to plan their trips well and immediately book their tickets, arrive early at the station, and comply with all applicable regulations so that travel by train during the Christmas period can run safely, smoothly and pleasantly,” concluded Luqman.
