JAKARTA 22 December 2025 – The Ministry of Public Works (PU) through the West Sumatra National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) has worked to deal with broken conditions on the Sicincin–Simpang Balingka section of the provincial road in Malalak District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. This handling effort is a direct follow-up to the instructions of the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, during a working visit to the disaster location.
Main focus
The current response is to accelerate the construction of an emergency bridge at KM 74+800
at the location of the Malalak Bridge which was completely cut off due to flash floods

Dody Hanggodo, emphasized that post-disaster connectivity recovery is
the government’s top priority. This is considering the road connectivity in the area

handling broken bridges, the Ministry of Public Works will build an emergency type bridge

Monday (22/12/2025). The process of installing this emergency bridge is estimated
lasts for two weeks, and can be passed in early January 2026.
It is hoped that the emergency bridge can immediately restore basic access to the community
while waiting for permanent treatment.

broken, the Sicincin–Malalak section also experienced serious damage due to landslides in

from the direction of Bukittinggi it is cut off until KM 85, while from the direction of Malalak only
can be passed up to KM 78.

Road section
Sicincin–Bukittinggi through Malalak District, Agam Regency has a role
vital as an alternative route connecting Agam Regency and the City
Bukittinggi, and Padang City, apart from via the Padang-Bukittinggi National Road
via the Anai Valley section. The interruption of this route greatly affects the mobility of residents,
distribution of agricultural products, and local economic activities.

Malalak Route
