Recommendation for PPPK Registration, Langkat Disperindag Honorary Admits Extortion of IDR 500 Thousand

AXIALNEWS.id | Honorary staff at Langkat Department of Industry and Trade who now has full and part-time PPPK status, admitted that he was extorted Rp. 500 thousand per person to get a recommendation letter in 2024.

Information was received, 39 honorary people were registered at the Langkat Department of Industry and Trade in 2024. All of them paid IDR 500 thousand per person to get a letter of recommendation from the service leader.

The total amount of alleged extortion of IDR 19.5 million was paid through the administration and treasurer departments on the instructions of the Head of the Langkat Industry and Trade Office.

Of the 39 people, six people were declared to have graduated as full-time PPPK, 30 people as part-time PPPK, and the remaining three people could not enter part-time PPPK because their work period did not meet the requirements.

Recommendation Letter as a necessary document for registering for PPPK Langkat in October 2024, so that you can take the selection exam in November 2024.

The Recommendation Letter is declared valid after it is signed by the service leader (department head, agency head, section or office head).

The function of the recommendation letter is to state that the honorary staff concerned is truly working in government service, accompanied by their period of service.

Head of the Langkat Industry and Trade Service (Kadis Perindag), Ikhsan Aprija, again denied allegations of extortion of recommendation letters from 39 honorary staff in his office in 2024 with a value of IDR 500 thousand per person.

“That doesn’t exist either, bro,” said Ikhsan, denying the slanted news, Tuesday (27/1/2026).

He also reiterated that there was no extortion of Rp. 500 thousand per person for publication SPMT (statement letter of carrying out duties) for full and part-time PPPK in their service.

“Permission sir, I explained yesterday that there is no quotation regarding the issuance of SPMT at the Department of Industry and Trade, I have also signed the letter since the beginning of the month. This is conveyed so that it is understood and thank you for your attention,” explained Ikhsan.
