UMA Confirms that Syah Afandin, 2004 Alumni, is not registered with PDDikti. Here’s the explanation

AXIALNEWS.id | The academic degree of bachelor of law (SH) held by Syah Afandin as Regent of Langkat is legal or legitimate.

Medan Area University (UMA) stated that Syah Afandin was a 2004 graduate of UMA at undergraduate level (S1) with a law degree.

“Yes, it is true that Mr. Syah Afandin is a UMA alumni who graduated in 2004 with a law degree,” said Head of the UMA Academic Bureau, Dian Fajar Prayoga, Friday (26/12/2025).

Regarding Syah Afandin’s name not being listed in the PDDikti (Higher Education Database), Dian explained, because he was a 2004 graduate.

“There is no PDDikti program for 2004 graduates so it is natural that it is not listed there. PDDikti was only implemented for alumni after that,” he said.

Please note that general study programs at state and private universities at the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education started for new students in the 2003/2004 academic year.

For General Study Program Student Data at State and Private Universities in the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education under the 2003/2004 academic year, the verification process is sufficient to be carried out at the respective State Universities or the local Kopertis if they come from Private Universities.
